Top ideas this week

Posted on January 15th, 2010 by tim bursch. Filed under ideas.

I hope you had a good week. Life is good, but hard sometimes. Be grateful for what you’ve got.

Here are the top ideas that I’m thinking about this week:

1. You can beat Walmart
2. Personal branding? Be yourself and make an impact.
3. Be part of people’s narrative first.
4. Check in on Linkedin at least once a week and take action (intro, recommend, send a message)
5. Email still works- I received two emails this week (a restaurant and a newsletter) Both caused me to take action. Email= action.
6. Conversation- Take time to really listen online and offline. People are good. And their stories matter.
7. The people of Haiti suffered this week. Take notice and help.

What about you? What ideas have impacted you? Share them.

  • Thank you for these ideas, Tim. Sorry it took me a few days to swing by here. I really appreciate you sharing my post, also. Incredibly *generous* of you. :)
  • Glad you stopped by. It is fun to be part of a generous community!
  • Great ideas for us this week, Tim. Of particular interest for me lately has been two of LinkedIn's new features. First, their new Answers feature is a great way to build credibility in your role. See what types of questions are being asked in your industry and then respond with your insights to share your knowledge. Next, within your profile you can add new "widgets." For example, I just added an Amazon reading list so I can share all the Internet marketing books I'm reading with my colleagues and whether they're worth reading. Have a great weekend!
  • Josh,
Those are great ideas. I will be check the Answers section again (haven't for some time) be sure to share these with others. What is your favorite read right now? Mine: The War of Art.
