Blog Accountability for 2010

Posted on January 3rd, 2010 by tim bursch. Filed under blogging, personal development.

I recently read a great article on Web Worker Daily about having an accountability partner in business. Fits with my idea of a village business.

A friend of mine, Clay Hebert, mentioned that he was going to post every day in 2010. Big goal.
One of my goals in 2010 is to practice more writing. I tossed out the idea that we work as blog accountability partners. He said yes.

So, expect a lot more writing, a post at least every weekday, this year. You will find posts on business, social media, social impact, ideas for your business, other voices, and more.

Be sure to subscribe to Clay’s blog too and watch for daily common sense.

What about you? What helps you reach your goals?

Thanks, Tim. I'm honored to be accountability partners with you in 2010 and I'm excited to work with you on our other ventures. Knowing someone is keeping watch helps me post everyday. 4 for 4 so far....I hope to keep it going!

    Amazing idea Tim,
I've been reflecting on what it means to practice the Eucharist lately. When we take that very practically the word Eu in Greek means Good, and the word Charis, means Grace or Gift. You're ability to socially network and give back to your community through ideas and encouragement is at the foundation your participation in the Eucharist. Yet, we need others to give back to us so that we can't be sucked dry. Its an amazing idea to have an accountability partner.

    You're awesome Tim,

Great idea! I immediately think of people who do this with working out. Having someone check in and encourage hitting the gym together helps so many people get into an exercise routine. The same can go with our brains and creative thinking. I think having a blog partner would certainly help me get into a groove with my writing. Hope it works out for you. Thanks for posting!

  • Katie,
Thank you for stopping by. For me it seems like behavior changes within relationship. Not isolation. When I put my goal or challenge out in the open with a friend, it seems more do-able. I wonder if digital community will help more or less?
  • My isn't very technical!!
I brought it up on the #Twitterpreneur Twub late last year.
I have a white board on the wall beside my desk, with daily and weekly goals/to do.
I see it all the time and it helps maintain FOCUS.

    Cheers Adam
  • Adam,
That totally helps. It's easy to write down a goal and then file it away, but when it's staring you in the face every day...hard to ignore. Hope you have a big 2010.
