Accountability and Putting Your Stuff Online

Posted on September 22nd, 2009 by tim bursch. Filed under personal development, social media.

Lately I have noticed an interesting thing happen. People are sharing very personal stuff (mission, dreams, ideas) online. And then they get support and encouragement to do it. They put their stuff out there for everyone to see and find people and accountability. (Maybe criticism too, but that happens when you want to change the world.)

I wonder if we naturally want to help people be and do better. But how often do we open up about this? What about you? Are you willing to share your dreams with the world?

Here’s my attempt:
I want to change the world. Be a voice for overlooked people to business. Make strong connections. Give away ideas. Love my family and friends.

Want to share? Find accountability?

  • Hi Tim,

It takes guts to put your biggest dreams out there for the world to see. Especially when you're worried about what people will think. However, sometimes dreams are so BIG and so powerful that they can't help but be shared. If you're someone who wants to create massive change in the world, I have a hunch that it's coming through you, not from you. It's impossible to serve the world without help, and putting your dreams in public allows for people with similar dreams to find you and collaborate. Who knows how long it might have taken us to find each other? Never? But now we're set to meet and at the UnSummit we'll be chatting about our mutual dreams and plotting the course as to how to make them real. The only way to win big is to risk big and being vulnerable with our deepest longings is the biggest risk of them all. Thank you for being willing to do so. I'll do whatever I can to help you make your dreams a reality.

    Play BIG,
    Amy
  • Amy,
Thanks for your support and words. The cool thing is that we don't have to go it alone. We can find and ask for help.

I hope more people can find purpose and Play BIG! When they do they help others and it keeps spiraling up. : )
